Cowboys move on Malik McDowell
The Cowboys have an interest in a defensive deal with Malik McDowell but there are problems. Last week the Cowboys brought in protective tackle Malik McDowell for a check out. He left without signing plus since the visit, there hasn’t really been a lot of news. McDowell’ s ATV accident as a first year right before training camp with the Seattle Seahawks has taken him out of actions for the last two years. The Seahawks weren’ t going to wait any longer, due to the fact their doctors believed he would in no way be cleared to play again. Here’ s what Pete Carroll needed to say after he learning about McDowell getting a visit with another group.
If the Cowboys doctors were prepared to clear him, he almost assuredly would be a Cowboy by now. Given their immense talent and the help the particular Cowboys need at defensive deal with, plus the likelihood of a very cheap, incentive-laden contract, Dallas would have pounced when they could clear him.
But may be the pursuit over? The Cowboys haven’t said anything but just recently Kevin Sherrington for SportsDay solved a chat question about McDowell.
Will the Cowboys take an opportunity on Malik McDowell?
Well, they’ re apparently talking to him, and am don’ t know why not. Seattle’ s doctors wouldn’ t crystal clear him to play after head injuries sustained in an ATV accident. McDowell’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, states a different set of doctors have a various opinion now. We’ ll discover. No sense not checking this out.
Maybe the Cowboys healthcare team is still working on this. Not knowing any of the specifics it’ s difficult to gauge where the team is at, however, it doesn’ t sound like the idea of putting your signature on McDowell has been totally ruled out. Probably it has internally and the Cowboys haven’ t informed anybody, but till we hear a final word, probably this is still in play.
